Party Planning Checklist

For those of you rushed off your feet, we’ve devised a handy party essentials checklist to help you plan your next celebration, with links directly to the pages you need! Hooks ‘n’ hammers, ribbon ‘n’ wrapping – we’ve got it all written down so nothing is forgotten.

Good luck with the planning and celebration!

Decorations

Put your stamp on your party and make it one your guests will remember, by decorating in style. With our huge range of stylish banners, balloons, garlands and more, you can really "make it your own".

Balloons and Helium

Balloons are some of the most essential party decorations. If you fill them with helium, your guests won't be able to speak highly enough of them!

Take it one step further by personalising your balloon with your name or a special message.

Use curling ribbon for tying and hanging the balloons. Don't forget your balloon weights for colourful balloon arrangements!

TOP TIP: Find some scissors for general use and sticky tape - just in case! Another handy hint to help your guests is by making a 'Toilet' sign, in case they get lost.

Bunting and garlands

Whether it's a children's party, family bash or a more sophisticated soirée, you can always take your decorating up a notch with some well-placed bunting.

🎈 Infuse some pastel colours with a 'happy birthday' foil balloon garland for £5.99.

🌺 Take a tiki tilt with a tropical garland. It's perfect for an outdoor evening party or for fiesta fun indoors. Get yours for only £10.99.

Top Tip: Add some confetti to complement your table and wall decorations.

Personalised Banners

Make your party really unique, with your very own customised banners.

Add a name, pictures, messages and more - for a lasting souvenir of your special celebration.

At just £14.99, our personalised banners are sure to leave a lasting impression.

Food and Drink Essentials

Serve up a storm for your guests - either with a buffet or a sit-down meal.

However you plan to feed your partygoers, we've got a huge range of platters, cutlery, and tableware to suit all occasions.

Plates and Cutlery

The decorating doesn't have to stop at bunting. Bring some glitter and colour to the dinner table, with gold paper trays, funky boho spice floral plates, or even snazzy dinosaur-shaped paper plates.

Serving platters and cupcake stands are great for displaying buffet food. It's always good to have some napkins or wipes on hand too, for sticky fingers!

Keep the environment in mind and ditch the plastic forks. Check out our range of wooden cutlery, featuring a variety of colourful designs.

Top Tip: Use cocktail sticks or food skewers for kebabs, and serving tableware, to keep fingers out of food. If you're celebrating a birthday, don't forget to buy candles and matches - along with a cake plate & knife

Cups, jugs and straws

Once the food is sorted, you can turn your attention to drinks!

For what some might say is the most important part of a party, your guests will enjoy sipping their drinks from an array of bright, bold, and eco-friendly paper cups.

Make refreshing cocktails or mocktails to cool partygoers, in a stylish Boho Spoce glass pitcher.

Then, top it off with striped, glittery, or decorated straws from only £1.99 per pack.

Party Games

No party is complete without some games!

Fortunately, we've got you covered with a fantastic selection of fun-filled family favourites and crowd pleasers.

Indoor Party Games

Sing-Along Songs

A staple for any musical party is a sing-along. Gather the kids and grown-ups around for a tune or two, such as Row, Row, Row Your BoatIf You're Happy and You Know It, and Wheels on the Bus.

For adults and older children, sing some of your favourite karaoke classics, like ABBA's Dancing Queen or Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Take your sing-along to the next level by introducing some musical instruments, from something as simple as a kazoo to a harmonica, tambourine, or ukulele!

Limbo Games

Limbo is perfect for "bendy" partygoers and made all the more fun with some lively music!

Simply balance a long stick, piece of rope or string across the top of two chairs, approximately 1.5 metres apart.

Just make sure there are soft cushions or rugs in case of bumpy landings - or even play outside on some soft grass!

This is absolutely ideal for tropical party themes.

Pass the Parcel

Wrap a parcel/prize with lots of layers of wrapping paper, alternating the patterns of paper and attach a small packet of sweets or a little prize to each layer. The more layers, the better - so everyone gets the chance to unwrap a treat.

When the music starts, the parcel is passed around in a circle. When the music stops, the person holding the parcel gets to unwrap a layer.

Continue until the last layer is unwrapped, to reveal the final prize. It could be a large bag of sweets or something from our party bag range.

Check out our party bag fillers for some great parcel ideas!

Outdoor party games

Depending on the time of year, you might wish to take advantage of the ideal weather and host your party in the sunshine. If so, you'll need outstanding outdoor games that your guests can enjoy while they soak in some rays!

Piñatas

A firm party staple for centuries, a well-placed piñata is sure to prove popular with partygoers of all ages. It's the perfect party game, regardless of whether your venue is indoors or outside.

Let your guests get stuck in, as they whack their way to some tasty treats!

Photo booth with props

Make memories that will last a lifetime, literally, by offering your guests somewhere to capture the moment in real-time.

A simple photo booth can spark creativity, be a great laugh, and produce pictures that are looked back on for decades.

Create the ultimate selfie station at your event.

Add an incredible backdrop, such as our impressive pastel gold streamers and balloons set, or a pink and lilac tissue paper disc backdrop. Or go all-out with a motif, using our our eco-friendly blue paper disc backdrop for £19.99!
