Children's Party Ideas: The Greatest Showman Party

Cue your jazz hands and your dancing shoes, because you’re about to throw the ultimate The Greatest Showman party. That’s right – with these seven simple steps and a host of spectacular party props, you can bring the flm to life in the comfort of your own home.

1. Get Your Invitations in Order

A spectacular party requires spectacular invitations to match. Ones styled with Victorian-esque writing and a palette reminiscent of the film (think gold, deep blue and red) will really build excitement for the big day. Bonus points for a scattering of glitter or confetti too. Going digital? It’s easy to translate the theme with design tools such as Canva.com.

2. Pick your Party menu

Roll up, roll up, it’s time to get your snacks in order. Popcorn, hotdogs and candy floss are all obvious choices for your The Greatest Showman themed party. For something a little different? How about cake-pops decorated to resemble Barnum’s iconic red suit? Or biscuits with quotes from the film?

3. Set your Centrepiece

Every show needs a grand finale, so choose something extravagant to display loud and proud on your party table or as your guests arrive. Our ferris wheel table topper will knock guests’ socks off, especially when filled with a section of tantalising treats.

4. Dial up the Decor

More is always more when it comes to show business, so don’t be afraid to go all out with your decorations. In true The Greatest Showman style, use the iconic red and white striped design of the circus tent via fabric or cardboard to embellish walls or doorways. Vibrant bunting, carnival-style signposts and an array of balloons – from colourful bouquets to tiger, leopard and zebra-shaped balloons – will also add to the party magic.

5. Choose your Tableware

Continue the theme right down to the nibbles table with a whole host of fun yet functional dinnerware. We’ve got stripy plates and cups that will have you serving up a spectacle of a feast – plus napkins to catch the crumbs in circus style.

6. Line-up your Entertainment

Will you host a show worthy of the Barnum & Bailey Circus? Or will you entertain guests with circus-inspired games such as spinning tops, (not-so) flaming hoops and bowling?

7. Get Dressed-up

There's endless inspiration in the film when it comes to choosing a costume. You could keep it subtle by placing circus-themed props and top hats around your venue. Or get everyone to dress up as a character from the movie.
