How to Throw a Magical Princess Party

If your little one loves all things sparkly and magical, a princess themed party will be right up their street. And while making their fairytale dreams come to life may seem like quite a task, we’ve made it easier than ever with our handy guide. So, bring on the tutus, tiaras and fairy dust – you’re about to transform your home into a magical kingdom!

Step One: roll out your royal invitations

A princess party deserves some princess worthy invitations to match. Why not create your own by snipping turret-like silhouettes into pastel card to form a castle-shaped invitation? If you’re going digital, design sites such as canva.com have a bunch of free templates to help you create yours.

Step Two: pick your party menu

Snacks such as tiara-shaped sandwiches, all-pink sweets and cupcakes topped with regal carriages will all make an enchanting display on your nibbles table! Personalised fairy cakes will also add an extra special touch and make the birthday youngster feel like a true princess of the party.

Step Three: build your magical kingdom

With some handy props and a little bit of styling magic, it’s easy to transform your space into a fairytale-like scene. Sparkly backdrops, princess bunting and hanging decorations will all add to your theme, bringing a dreamy sense of wonderment that’ll captivate little princesses!

Step Four: set your stunning centrepiece

Will you wow the birthday princess with a castle centrepiece or entice guests with a carousel cake stand full of sweet treats? Whatever you choose, a centrepiece is showstopping way to add a final flourish to your party decorations.

Step Five: prepare your princess party activities

Prepare a line-up of activities to keep your royal highness entertained. Why not get kids crafting their own crown that they can don at the party? (Find the crown-making tutorial here). Or, create a royal treasure hunt and hide goodies such as chocolate coins, tiaras or even Cinderella’s lost shoe! Other party favourites include pinata and pin the tail.

Step Six: get dressed-up!

Now all that’s left to do is step into character! Ask guests to come as their favourite fairytale character, and provide extras such as tiaras, sparkly hats and wands to add to the party fun!
