5 Ways to Make Father’s Day 2023 Special

Father’s Day is on its way, so families will be planning ahead to get everything in place to celebrate the dad of their house. Don’t just buy a case of his favourite craft beer and let that be it, though. Push the boat out with a day packed with surprise treats, activities and plenty of family time. Here are five ways to make this June 18th one he’ll absolutely love...

Breakfast or brunch?

Of course, breakfast in bed is a popular option for Father’s Day, so if dad would relish being served a slap up brekkie while not having to drag himself out of bed, then stock up on his favourite pastries and cereal, and get some good bacon in for sandwiches. Sneak down to the kitchen to get it all set up while he snoozes. Kids love arranging breakfast in bed trays, so get them up to give you a hand. You might prefer to go out as a family for brekkie, but why not give dad a proper lie in and make it brunch instead?

Plan a day out – and make it a surprise!

Surprise dad with a special day packed with his favourite things and activities, whether that’s going for a long bike ride, visiting a beloved art gallery or playing a round of golf at a spectacular course. Other ideas include organising a family games tournament, creating an 'at home' cinema for him to watch his favourite film or book him in for an online cooking class which you could all do together. Whatever you pick, keep it secret until the big day. Round off the activity with a magnificent family picnic, kitted out with some of our eco-friendly tableware. As a present, you could also get him a gift of a day out in the future and he’ll have something exciting to stick in the diary.

The right records

Vinyl has spun its way back to huge popularity, and you can’t get a more classic ‘dad’ present than a load of records. Pick some of his favourite classic albums or try him with some new music. If you’ve got an independent record shop in your town then they’ll be able to help you choose some excellent albums, and if you don’t have a record player at home, consider combining a Father’s Day and birthday present by buying him one.
