How to Decorate a Christmas Tree
Make Christmas extra special with a truly unique Christmas tree that will WOW every guest who enters your home. Read on for our step-by-step guide on how to decorate your Christmas tree like a pro.
Step 1: Fluff those branches
The first and most important step of decorating your Christmas tree is to fluff the branches! The fuller the tree, the better it looks. Separate each branch so that they fan out and cover as much area as possible.
Bend branches where you can to fill in any gaps.
Step 2: Pick your Christmas theme
Choosing a Christmas theme will help you to coordinate and decorate your tree seamlessly. This year we have 4 different Christmas themes to suit any taste:
- Luxury Metallic - lavish golden and Nutcracker touches
- Traditional Christmas - rich reds and greens
- Winter Woodland - deep greens, whites and silvers
- Festive Cheer - bright reds and plenty of Santa
Step 3: Lights!
It’s tricky to hang lights on a Christmas tree that has decorations so it’s best to place the lights first before you decorate. Try to pick lights with a wire that matches the colour of your tree for a seamless effect! Make sure you wrap the lights starting from the base and centre of your tree. This gives a feeling of depth to your Christmas tree which makes a huge difference! You can then weave the lights between and over branches.
Step 4: Decorate your Christmas tree
You’re now ready to decorate your tree! This is a great activity to do together as a family as a wonderful Christmas tradition. Give the kids some decorations to hang (don’t worry, you can tastefully rearrange later!)
Make sure you hang your favourite decorations in prime positions, facing towards the room so that guests can admire them! Clustering baubles is also a great idea to create a visually-appealing Christmas tree.
Step 5: Select your tree topper
The final finishing touch to any Christmas tree is the tree topper. Make sure you pick one that fits your theme and ties together your festive tree.
